A comic book about the Ugandan civil war. Really.

Yesterday the NYT noted a comic book that Vertigo Comics has been publishing for the last few months called Unknown Soldier. The story is about a Ugandan that fled to the US, became a doctor, and returned to the country in 2002 with his wife to work in the north.

The author visited the country in 2007 and the book comes with the normal list of key words for Uganda: child soldier, LRA, Kony, etc.

But wait. It looks like the book also comes with a glossary and background information on the conflict. The authors website has even more stuff, including videos.

I will reserve judgement until I read the collected edition, which comes out August 26.
