Economic effects of climate change

There are two interesting links on the effects of climate change out this week:

• A new report suggests that 500,000 people may die from climate change in 2030, and that 300,000 already have. (HT to New Scientist)
• Richard Tol has a paper out summarizing the literature on the economic impact of climate change. I may be behind the times here, but I thought $10 per tonne was the norm. It looks like $50 per tonne is actually more accurate.
