Links on why we do science

• Science Friday, of NPR, had a great physics broadcast recently from ASU. The issue of the meaning of science was brought up. My favorite quote from the show, at 20:07: "To be perplexed is the best state of mind to be in."
• If Terminator, BSG or any of the other dozen shows about robots gone amok didn't scare you, perhaps the robot scientist will. The New Scientist is profiling a robot that has made scientific discoveries without the aid of humans.
