New links

  1. I've been trying to catch up on The Daily Show since getting back from Uganda, and have found my favorite clip from the last few weeks, described as "The Guantanamo detainees want to kill Americans, unlike our current inmate population of jaywalkers and Boy Scouts." I agree, we got way worse criminals here in the US.
  2. I attended a discussion last week at the World Bank on using the public sphere to improve post conflict reconstruction. The conclusion of two interesting reports (here and here) is that the international community needs to better integrate the development of media, government and community groups. Its probably not news to many in development though that NGOs don't do a good job working with each other, let alone with governments.
  3. According to Media Matters, only 6% of guests on the Sunday talk shows discussing the new stimulus bill are economists. Hat tip to MR.
