More economist insanity

I've blogged about Edward Prescott before. It appears he has come up with another crazy idea, which Brad DeLong discusses here, that the "good" economists are not in agreement on the stimulus bill.

I think what gets me is Edward's incredible hubris in his comment that economists agree "if you go down to the third-tier schools, yes, but they're not the people advancing the science."

Two years ago I was at a presentation by Edward at ASU, where he now works. I was struck by the fact that he has checked out, both as a person and a researcher. Personally, I don't think he's done much to "advance the science" in many years.
