I had the opportunity to participate in the spontaneous U Street block party last night (at the 1:50 mark, you can see me walk through the lower right corner). For those not familiar with U, it used to be (still is?) one of the most important streets in the DC black community, full of a lot of history, including riots after Martin Luther King was killed. It was amazing to be there.
We then walked to the White House where the place was packed. Some good photos can be found here.
